Advantages

Why Choose Structural Steel Processing?

Simultaneous Multi-Side Processing

Three independent spindle units drill, mill, tap, and mark from all three sides of the beam at once - eliminating the need to reposition or flip the workpiece between operations.

Sub-Axis Efficiency

The 500 mm sub-axis on each spindle completes multiple holes and operations in a single zone without advancing the beam, dramatically cutting cycle times on repetitive bolt patterns.

Scalable Product Range

From the entry-level Meteor single-spindle to the fully automated Venera, ACM offers a beam drill line for every production volume and budget - all backed by the same installation and service commitment.

Multi-Operation Flexibility

Automatic tool changers support drilling, milling, tapping, countersinking, and marking in a single pass. No manual changeovers, no separate stations, no lost time between operations.

Akyapak 3 ADM Venera Beam Drill Line

The Akyapak 3 ADM Venera represents the latest evolution in CNC beam drilling technology, combining three independent high-speed spindle units with integrated BYRED software for programming-free drilling, cutting, and milling operations. Each spindle operates across a 500 mm sub-axis range, enabling simultaneous multi-side processing of H-beams, channels, angles, and plates without repositioning the workpiece. The Venera edition adds fully automated sensor-driven material handling, magnetic length measurement, and laser alignment — reducing operator involvement and maximising throughput. Available from ACM in Cambridge, Ontario with full installation, training, and service support.

3 ADM 1200

10-axis three-spindle CNC beam drill line

3 ADM 1200

The Akyapak 3 ADM 1200 is a production-grade CNC beam drilling line equipped with three servo-driven spindle units that process structural profiles from all three sides simultaneously. A 500 mm sub-axis on each spindle allows multiple holes, slots, and marks to be completed along the beam without feeding the material forward — significantly reducing cycle times on repetitive patterns. Built with Mitsubishi and Siemens components, the 3 ADM 1200 handles drilling, milling, tapping, countersinking, and scribe marking in a single automated pass. ACM provides this line from our Ontario facility with commissioning, operator training, and dedicated after-sales support.

3 ADM Eco

7-axis three-spindle CNC beam drill line

3 ADM Eco

The Akyapak 3 ADM Eco delivers three-spindle CNC beam drilling at an accessible price point for fabricators who need to stay competitive without the capital outlay of a full 10-axis system. All three drill heads process independently on each side of the profile, and the material repositions automatically after each horizontal operation. While the Eco omits the sub-axis traversal of the full 3 ADM, its high-speed spindles maintain the same drilling diameter range and BT 40 tooling compatibility. ACM supplies the 3 ADM Eco from Cambridge, Ontario with full installation, commissioning, and ongoing technical support.

Meteor 1200

Single-spindle CNC drilling line

Meteor 1200

The Akyapak Meteor 1200 is a single-spindle CNC drilling line built for fabricators who need reliable profile processing in a compact footprint. Designed to handle beams, angles, flat sheets, and various structural sections, the Meteor drills holes from 3/8" to 1-1/4" at speeds up to 3,000 rpm, and performs milling for slots and pockets through its 6-station automatic tool changer. Available in working lengths from 20 to 85 feet, the line scales to match your shop’s throughput requirements. ACM supplies the Meteor 1200 from our Cambridge, Ontario location with installation, training, and full after-sales support.

PCR51

Combination drilling and robotic plasma beam line

PCR51

The PCR51 is Prodevco’s flagship beam processing line, combining CNC drilling and robotic plasma coping in a single integrated system. Three independent spindle drill heads with sub-axis positioning handle simultaneous drilling on all three faces — even when holes are not aligned — plus milling, tapping, countersinking, and slot machining. The robotic plasma coper adds copes, notches, compound angle cuts, weld prep, beam splitting, and layout marking, eliminating the need for separate drill and cope lines. Processes sections from 6″×3″ up to 51″×20″. Available from AC Machinery in Cambridge, Ontario.

FAQ

Structural Steel Processing Questions

Answers to common questions about our structural steel processing products.

ACM’s Akyapak beam drill lines handle H-beams, I-beams, channels (C and U profiles), angles, tubes, and flat plates. The 3 ADM series accepts profiles up to 1,200 mm wide and 500 mm tall, while the Meteor 1200 processes sections up to 47″ in both dimensions.

A 10-axis line (3 ADM Venera, 3 ADM 1200) includes a sub-axis on each of its three spindles, allowing multiple holes and operations within a 500 mm zone without moving the beam. A 7-axis line (3 ADM Eco) repositions the material after each horizontal drilling operation. The 10-axis configuration delivers faster cycle times on repetitive patterns, while the 7-axis model offers the same drilling range at a lower capital cost.

The Meteor 1200 performs drilling, milling, and slot cutting on structural profiles, but with a single spindle rather than three. It’s ideal for smaller shops or moderate volumes where floor space and budget are primary considerations. For higher throughput or simultaneous multi-side processing, the 3 ADM series is the better fit.

Yes. ACM handles complete installation, commissioning, operator training, and ongoing service for all Akyapak structural steel processing equipment from our Cambridge, Ontario facility. We support fabricators across Ontario and Eastern Canada.

In addition to drilling, the ADM lines perform milling (for slots and pockets), tapping, countersinking, scribe marking, and layout marking. The Venera model adds programming-free beveling and chamfering through its BYRED software. All models support automatic tool changing for uninterrupted multi-operation processing.
