Advantages

Why Choose Robot Coper?

Fully Automated Coping

Eliminate manual layout, hand cutting, and torch fitting. Robotic coping systems read detailing files directly and execute complex cuts with repeatable precision - no operator programming required.

Up to 10× Productivity

Automated robotic coping delivers dramatically higher throughput than manual methods. Continuous operation with minimal setup time between parts keeps your production line moving.

Compact Footprint

Prodevco robot copers fit into tight shop layouts with modular conveyor options for flexible floor planning. The PCR31 and PCR41 occupy a fraction of the space of traditional beam processing lines.

Integrated Drilling Option

The PCR51 combines 3-spindle CNC drilling with robotic plasma coping in a single beam line - eliminating separate drill and cope stations and reducing material handling between processes.

3D Vision Measuring

Laser-based measuring systems scan each piece on arrival and compensate for mill tolerances automatically. Every cut lands precisely where it should, regardless of material variance.

Remote Diagnostics

Internet-connected cameras inside the enclosure enable remote troubleshooting and fast support response. Resolve issues without waiting for an on-site service visit.

Compact 6-axis robotic beam coper with integrated plate processing, handling structural steel up to W44 and plate up to 60 inches

Prodevco PCR31
Robotic beam coping & plate processing system

Prodevco PCR31

The PCR31 packs full-scale robotic beam coping and plate processing into a single compact work cell. A 6-axis industrial robot armed with a Hypertherm XPR plasma source handles copes, notches, bolt holes, weld preparation, beam splitting, and layout marking on H-beams up to W44, channels, angles, and HSS — then switches to plate processing for holes, slots, and profiles in material up to 60 inches wide. The onboard 3D Vision System scans each piece as it arrives, measuring actual dimensions and compensating for mill tolerances automatically so every cut lands where it should. Feed your DSTV or DXF files straight from Tekla, SDS/2, or GRAITEC and the PCR31 runs them without manual programming. Available from AC Machinery in Cambridge, Ontario, with full installation, training, and ongoing service support.

PCR41

Robotic structural steel cutting system

PCR41

The PCR41 is a compact, cost-effective robotic plasma cutting system built for structural steel fabricators who need automated coping without a massive equipment footprint. Powered by a Fanuc 6-axis industrial robot and Hypertherm XPR 300 plasma source, it processes all four faces of hollow structural sections (square and rectangular tubing) along with standard H-beams, channels, and angles — handling copes, notches, holes, slots, compound bevels, beam splitting, and layout marking. A laser-based 3D vision measuring system with dual rotary encoders scans each piece on arrival, compensating for mill tolerances so cuts land precisely where they should. Feed your DSTV/NC1 files directly from Tekla, SDS/2, or GRAITEC — no post-processing or macros required. Available from AC Machinery in Cambridge, Ontario, with full installation, training, and ongoing service support.

PCR42

7-axis robotic structural steel cutting system

PCR42

The PCR42 is Prodevco’s top-of-line robotic plasma coping system, combining 7-axis operation with fully automated laser measuring for maximum structural steel processing versatility. A Fanuc 7th rotary axis enables 2-zone processing — reducing material indexing and pushing throughput well beyond single-zone systems. It handles wide-flange beams up to W44, channels, angles, HSS rectangle and square tubing, and round tube, executing copes, notches, holes, slots, compound bevels, beam splitting, scribing, and weld prep directly from DSTV/NC1 files. Available from AC Machinery in Cambridge, Ontario, with full installation, training, and ongoing service support.

PCR51

Combination drilling and robotic plasma beam line

PCR51

The PCR51 is Prodevco’s flagship beam processing line, combining CNC drilling and robotic plasma coping in a single integrated system. Three independent spindle drill heads with sub-axis positioning handle simultaneous drilling on all three faces — even when holes are not aligned — plus milling, tapping, countersinking, and slot machining. The robotic plasma coper adds copes, notches, compound angle cuts, weld prep, beam splitting, and layout marking, eliminating the need for separate drill and cope lines. Processes sections from 6″×3″ up to 51″×20″. Available from AC Machinery in Cambridge, Ontario.

FAQ

Robot Coper Questions

Answers to common questions about our robot coper products.

A robot coper is a CNC-controlled 6-axis robotic system that uses plasma or oxyfuel torches to cut copes, notches, holes, slots, and complex profiles in structural steel beams. It reads cut files directly from steel detailing software (Tekla, SDS/2, StruCad) and executes them automatically - replacing manual layout and hand cutting.

Prodevco robot copers handle I-beams, H-beams, wide-flange sections, channels, angles, hollow structural sections (HSS), and pipe. Capacity depends on the specific model - the Prodevco range covers beams up to W44 and beyond.

Yes. ACM provides full installation, commissioning, operator training, and ongoing service for Prodevco robotic coping machines from our Cambridge, Ontario location. We serve structural steel fabricators across Ontario and Eastern Canada.
